I make mistakes too...
Good Morning internet friends!
This morning my mind is full of miscellaneous thoughts. I was going to try to pull together a post about spring crafts or some other cutesy thing but my mind just won't get into that gear.So instead I will jot down a few of my rambling thoughts while I wait for my coffee to brew.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Did you know that diesel engines do not take regular 10w40 oil? Ask me how I know....Actually, I just found that out this morning and I'm still trying to process a brain overload...I'm prone to guilt and fears and remorse when I make mistakes. Hubby thinks it'll be fine. Sigh.
Did you further know that I drive a very large, noisy diesel Suburban whom I refer to as Olga? I used to drive a cute little Astro van. It could get into fairly small spaces and it wasn't too bad on the get up and go scale. However, Astro vans do not have the life span of diesel anythings and they also have the storage/trunk capacity only sightly larger than my largest purse...make any inference you like...they're both true.
Oh! and did I mention how ridiculous I look when I try to squeeze my slightly rounded little body into the very backseat to clean? I can get my head and shoulders in but the rest of me stays out while I reach my short arm as far as I can...the burger wrapper staying just out of reach...I've hurt myself like that more than once.
We have owned Olga for quite a while now (3 or 4 years?). She was Dear Hubby's vehicle of choice until recently. He got a pickup and I got Olga. She's old, and she's large, and she's loud and embarrasing anywhere I have to stop, but she's got a long life span...Oh dear, I just had a thought...I hope hubby doesn't see me like that. If he starts calling me Olga I may have to call on some of you for comfort.

Any of you remember how adorable little kittens can be? We have 6 of them. Six feisty, furry, fat, funny baby kitty kitties. They are so cute it makes you want to pinch their toes. They are now 6 weeks old. I usually find homes for my kittens at 8 weeks but I'm going to start looking now. Since we are so busy this year I figure a head start would be wise.
I hate giving them away. I'm like a little 8 year old girl. Right after the new owners drive away I have to run and cry before any of the children learns of my weakness. (if you're in North Texas and need a new furball to love, let me know).
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
We have a year of busy activity planned and I so much would like to look like I'm in charge and know what I'm doing. But if that happens we'll all know it was God and He alone. I am a very feeble little human and the coming year will involve all of the following (of course more will be added as we go along):
1. My packing up this house, including several thousand books....(actually I'd better add a sale of books to this list)
2. Showing this house to perfect strangers and making it look good enough that someone wants to buy it.
3. Continuing to wean the two little girls and teach them to sleep through the night.
4.Continue homeschooling the older 3 kiddoes.
5. Plan something special for hubby's 40th birthday.
6. Get my almost 17 year old into and through his senior year...this will include me figuring out if I want to do a transcript, and how, and helping him make decisions about his future, as well as pushing him to finish up some things he's let slide.
7. Move to the Ozarks and live in a? Dunno yet...Tent? Barn? Yurt?
8. A 4 day, 3 night trip to Washington State to visit relatives which will include a lovely, and hopefully a little bit romantic, cruise get away with 2 of hubby's sisters and their husbands and his parents.
9. The trip will require me finding someone who wants to stay with my 5 kids and babysit while we are out of town. Any volunteers? This will be new and hard for me...leave all my little lambies??? aaahhh! Lord, help me not be scared!
10. Getting this body into something resembling... uhhmmm ... 'shape'.
It would be nice if hubby would be proud as a peacock to have me on his arm when we dine at the one elegant dinner on the cruise...it may be our only cruise ever...who knows?
11. Get my new little business venture up and running...this will be a bit more challenging than I originally suspected...due to not knowing what we'll be living in.
I'll stop there because I don't want to cause anyone to hyperventilate...actually I'm having to calm my own breathing....
I'm glad I know the Maker of All...He's going to be called in a lot.

Another little thought for the morning:
Have you ever just sat and stared at a tree with new spring leaves when the morning sun was shining through them~~the leaves with that special newness color? It's a glowing color that's hard to describe. And...it's simply , breathtakingly beautiful. The color radiates with the sun's glow and you can almost feel it. I like to fill my eyes with these things...they rejuvenate me somehow.

Oh goooodie!!! Im the FIRST to comment...hehehe Okay your post cracked me UP!!! I love it that you named your van Olga, and I am sure that your husband will NEVER call you that...LOL.. I have had the same fears when vacuuming out my vehicle and the only thing hanging out is my bootie, and how ridiculous I look. You made me smile today...and oh thanks for the Happy Birthday wish! Very sweet!
Wow...how you tied all of that into one post and it still all made sense blows me away and makes me think you are one special lady!! Busy Busy Busy is how I would say you are gonna be for the next year... Love the list and even though my exact life isn't the same there are several things in this post that I can relate too..I say keep up the excellent work and when you need a lift I think you hit the nail on the head on who to call. The Lord is so good isn't he??
Wow. Wonder Woman.
I'm doing some of the same here.
How showing, moving along to new challenges. Just keep the main thing the main thing. Jesus.
My last car was named Bessie. I now have a minivan but haven't found a name for her yet. Any suggestions?
Your list is far more overwhelming than mine seems to be. So thanks for making me feel better. :)
If we lived in Texas, I would gladly stay with your lambies AND make room for a cute little furball. :)
Very funny. I love that you named your car - Olga - great name.
Wow...can I suggest lot's of caffeine?! Not in Olga though, I don't think diesels like that either. :)
I have a suggestion to help, just bring everything you own when you come for the cruise and we can all help. If it was only that easy huh? Don't want to sound like mom, but I still have my hopes.
We all went shopping the other day for the cruise and it made me run to the gym on monday..UGH! Can't wait to see you both, just ignore the chubby girl in the thong! Eeeeww!
Hi!
Thanks for leaving the comment on my blog! We are so excited about this new baby! I'm so tired right now, but I'm sure I'll feel better in a month or so when I enter my 4th month.
My parents live in WA state, north of Seattle. It's so beautiful out there. I would love to move out there, but my hubby loves Ohio...so we stay.
Two of our cats are expecting right now. I think one will have hers in a day or so. She looks like she's going to pop! I love the baby kittens, but haven't had much success giving them away. That's why we have 9 cats around here. Maybe I should offer a bag of free food to sweeten the deal a little! :-)
I liked what you wrote about math and your oldest son. My son struggles with math and it's a continual battle for him to get it done. But, he's so wonderful in other areas, I figure he'll eventually see the benefit in knowing math and will learn it quickly. Maybe that's not realistic, but hey, it gives me hope! :-)
I completely understand why you moved your blog here. I've contemplated it as well, especially when I can't get on my blog, or my post gets lost.
Have a great day!
~Karen
