Re-prioritizing- Reaching for Serenity
One of my childhood hideaways...this is where I would walk on my Uncle's farm when I was girl...a great place to escape the world 's pressures and listen to the quiet and think.
Last night I was finally able to sit down at the computer again after a long week involving 5 sick children and one sick hubby...:-) Everyone is well on the way to recovery now.
Being away from the computer this week I have had time to do some thinking about my blogging. I so enjoy it and wish I had more time to devote to it. However, as a family grows, so grows the mommy's busy schedule and I don't ever want to miss any little special moments with any of my precious family members...
So, my thinking has been that I will reduce the amount of time I spend on the computer for now. My posting may become farther apart as I attempt to re-focus my priorities. I am not closing the blog so I do hope to continue to hear from many of you as you are able. I am just putting my household and family first.
As I was pondering all of this in my heart I was popping in on various blog's that I love to visit and I was sad to see that Eyes of Wonder is being closed. She is a dear, sweet mother with so much to share, and those of us who visited her blog were enriched beyond words. However, seeing her make such a big decision while I was thinking of simply reducing made my decision so much easier. I have already cut way back on the number of comments I was leaving. Not because I didn't want to comment...just because I needed to find more time for other things. My apologies to those of who who have noticed my absence of commenting. I still read your posts and love hearing about your families and lives, and I will comment when I can...just less often.
As you may have noticed my posts have become infrequent already...I am just making an official announcement!
I have several blog topics floating around in my head that I hope to sit down and share in the near future, including homeschool curriculum and more book suggestions. Keep stopping by! Thanks for being such supportive blog friends.

Thanks for making the "official" announcement. I was only just beginning to worry...
I doubt very much that I would have been able to do what so many of you young mothers are doing, particularly in relation to blogging. I didn't even know how to find the on/off button on a computer when my kids were small.
I look forward to your perspective when you find time. But I appreciate that you don't want to miss special time with your family. They NEED YOU!!! You are so right to put them before a blog!
I applaud you. You should rule your blog, not allow your blog to rule you. Go enjoy your family, and visit mine whenever you have the time. I will be back to see what is going on with you periodically. I am just glad you are not closing it down entirely. Keep up the great work!!
I'm glad you are not closing down your blog. I would miss hearing from you. Come by when you can I will stop by from time to time to check up on you.
Glad to hear your family is on the mend! Your blog is inspiring but your commitment to your family is even more!
Blessings to you and yours today!

You go girl! :) Family and life are why we have blogs right? If we are always on the computer, then we can't live anything to write about.
I, personally, was feeling guilty that I hadn't blogged in two weeks. I love to write, to chronicle my life, and so for that blogging is great. But my life is SO busy right now that I just can't seem to find the time to write. Or when I do find I have a few minutes, I'm then too tired.
I logged on last night and just read other blogs to reassure myself that I'm not the only mom who is oh so busy to not have the time to blog. What I found was definitely as reassuring as I thought it would be! So many of us are saying we are just not blogging frequently or that we are cutting back so to spend more time with our families.
Enjoy!!
I have been where you are and you are definitely making the right decision to put your family first! It's hard but so worth it! But on the other hand I will miss you......
I feel like I have missed so much with my brain being in the clouds for the last two weeks!
Blessings
I applaud you for doing what is right for you & your family. Bloggers will come and go, blogs will fade away into our memories, but our family is forever. And the memories we make with them, the love we give them and the TIME we give them, will return 1000 fold.
The legacy we want to pass down is not what the back of our head looked like as we were posting our blog! It's the washing of their face while they were throwing up, the brushing of the hair while we talked about 'that boy', the walks in the park with our soul mate, those are things that last a lifetime.
So you go for it, I'll keep checking on your blog to see when/if you post & I will continue to lift up your family in prayer.
Oh, I understand. I am cutting back a bit as well. Mothering and family comes first.

Well, I understand. I just posted my first real blog even though I have been trying since July 22nd! I can only look occasionally anyway so I will keep checking. Your blogs are a blessing. I hope the family is well now. Some of us had a respiratory thing for a couple of weeks but seem to have recovered, finally! Praise the Lord!
